How can I stay healthy?

Vaccination is the most important tool we have to protect ourselves from COVID-19. We strongly recommend that all age-eligible New Yorkers be vaccinated for COVID-19. Find a vaccine site today at https://vaccinefinder.nyc.gov/. There is no cost to be vaccinated.

Vaccine booster shots are now available for all fully vaccinated people 5 and older. These shots boost your immunity from an initial vaccination series. A booster shot is recommended for any adult who received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine at least five months ago, the second dose of the Moderna vaccine at least six months ago, or the one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago.

Please remember to follow these important actions to prevent COVID-19 transmission:

Stay home if sick (except to get essential medical care, including COVID-19 testing).
Wear a face covering if you are symptomatic or exposed to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Practice healthy hand hygiene: Wash your hands often or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer; avoid touching your face; and cover your cough or sneeze with your arm, not your hands.
How can I stay updated?

We will continue to closely follow directions from public health experts and proactively update you on any measures we are taking. To ensure we can reach you via text and email, please create a New York City Schools Account (NYCSA) as soon as possible by visiting schools.nyc.gov/nycsa.

I'm reaching out as the new Outreach & Communications from the Office of State Assembly Member Zohran K. Mamdani to invite you to our upcoming office opening event, on Monday, October 31 from 3-7pm and ask you to please spread the word in your school community!

Families and children are welcome-- as are costumes! There will be activities for kids, and an opportunity to meet Assemblymember Mamdani, and hear about our work, and to meet representatives from the offices of Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, NYS Senator Mike Gianaris, City Councilmember Tiffany Cabán, and the Dept. of Sanitation.

We'll be holding the event as a "office opening" to celebrate that our office will be open for drop-ins between 11am-7pm on Mondays and Thursdays, for assistance with any housing, unemployment, or other constituent needs. Currently, we are open Monday-Friday, 10-6 by appointment, which will be continuing on as well.

Information Technology High School Open Houses
Dear Families,
Learn more about our caring, comprehensive, and progressive school environment here at Information Technology High School at our upcoming open houses. Our in-person open house will take place on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. and our virtual open house will take place on Tuesday Nov. 15, 2022 from 7-8:30 p.m.
Here is some information about our high school-
Information Technology High School, located in Long Island City, Queens, serves students in grades 9-12. We have ~900 students and we have a very diverse, beautiful student population.
We have Career and Technical programs in Video Production, Web Design, and Graphic Design. We are working diligently right now to begin our Cybersecurity program which is slated to start in the Fall of 2023.
We are a NYSED Arts Commencement school with approved majors in the Arts (instrumental and visual).
Our school offers rigorous college and career courses. Students begin taking AP courses from the 9th grade. We are a College Access For All school.
We are both an iMentor and National Equity Lab School. We are the first and only Queens iMentor school. We are a National Equity Lab School which gives our students the opportunity to take online courses at Stanford and Arizona State University. Our students also take college classes at CUNY as part of our College Now program.
We have much afterschool enrichment programming to support students (includes 14 student led clubs and PSAL). This includes a robotics team in conjunction with Cornell Tech and our My Sister's Keeper and My Brother's Keeper programs.
All students are required to complete 100 hours of community service throughout their four years at our high school.
We are rated one of the top 100 high schools in NYC.
