Parent Coordinator

As a member of the school staff supervised by the school principal, the Parent Coordinator works closely with school staff, school leadership teams, parent associations, community groups, and parent advisory councils to engage families and involve them in school communities.
 
 
The Parent Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive school environment, making parents feel supported and informed. By sharing contact information, posting visible signs, and collaborating with bilingual parents for translation, the Parent Coordinator ensures that all families feel connected to the school community. Through effective outreach, such as distributing a school directory, hosting workshops, and collaborating with community organizations, the Parent Coordinator increases parental involvement and provides valuable resources for parents to support learning at home. They also serve as a primary point of contact, addressing parent concerns and facilitating communication with school staff and the district. Additionally, the Parent Coordinator actively supports the Parent Association/PTA by assisting with outreach, bylaws, nominations, and attending meetings to stay engaged with parent needs and initiatives. Together, these efforts strengthen the school’s partnership with families, creating a community-focused environment for students’ success.
